Driven by a shared passion for the craft and a desire to fill a void in Buffalo’s dining landscape, We (Rachel Herman-gross & Leacel Hillenbrand) created Quenelle to bring a "rebirth of hospitality" to the heart of downtown. We envisioned more than just a restaurant; we built a women-owned and operated modern French bistro designed as a sanctuary where guests can check their troubles at the door. Every detail—from the intentional design of our cozy nooks to our menus—has been hand-selected to offer a genuine slice of French romance, providing an escape from the doldrums of everyday life.

Our identity is rooted in excellence and authenticity. We take immense pride in a wine program featuring small, family-owned French producers who are true stewards of their land, offering bottles you won't find anywhere else in the city. By pairing these exclusive pours with innovative cocktails and a menu featuring specifically imported French ingredients, we offer an experience that is both sophisticated and deeply welcoming.
